For 100 years, Sunset Heating & Cooling has been a trusted name in the Portland, OR HVAC industry. Our team of highly trained technicians is friendly, professional, and always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to meet your needs. We’re not only known for our quality workmanship and exceptional customer service, but we also have a reputation for giving back to our community by supporting organizations that promote causes we are passionate about: children in foster care and putting an end to human trafficking.
At Sunset Heating & Cooling, we consider our team a family. That’s why, as a company, we focus on one thing: our family serving yours- since 1922!
Where We’ve Been
Our company was founded back in 1922 by Lloyd Miesen Sr. as Sunset Fuel. In those days, we were hauling sawdust from sawmills around the area and bringing it to local families to use as heating fuel.
In the last century, our business has seen many changes and made many transitions to stay current in the industry. Sunset Fuel was eventually passed from Lloyd Miesen Sr. to his three sons – Lloyd Jr., Lee, and Jerry – who ran the company for many years before selling it in 2004 to a member of the Sunset Fuel family.
Where We’re Going
The company name may have changed when it was sold in 2004, but the fact that Sunset Heating & Cooling has been providing area families with quality heating and cooling products has never changed.
In our time, we’ve seen the preferred heating source go from wood to coal, to heating oil, and finally, to natural gas and electricity. We are excited about looking to the future and continuing to provide our clients with the best state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems.
Where will Sunset Heating & Cooling go from here? It could be solar or wind power, geothermal heating, or something else entirely! Who knows what the future of indoor heating and cooling may hold? What we do know is that Sunset Heating & Cooling has been here for generations of Portland area families and we’ll still be here for generations to come!
